We are lucky here in Seattle that we have a way to mark the beginning of Spring...
The Northwest Flower & Garden Show !

The gray, cold drizzle will all go away when you come to the Washington State Convention Center this week, February 20th thru 24th, 2008, to walk around the fabulous display gardens, and see all the wonderful new "STUFF'' for sale to help turn your yard, patio, or balcony into your own private garden retreat. Come and get some ideas to improve your home's curb appeal, or just come for a stroll through fantasy gardens. You can also attend the many lectures to learn more about gardening, but for me, it's all about the display gardens...I'm going on Friday....
Check out last years Northwest Flower & Garden Show , I had a wonderful time (as usual!) there were so many wonderful ideas, and last year one of my favorites was actually a bathroom! I have lost count of how many shows I have gone to, but I know I went a few years before I bought my Seattle home in 1997, I couldn't wait until I owned my own home to plan and make my own gardens.

Above is a garden from my 2006 visit. Yes....I would love to enjoy dinner at that table in that garden!
So come in out of the gray and the cold, and take a peek at what Spring can bring to you!

Note: I counted it up....this should be my 14th visit!

Haha! Hi Carole! Deborah, I just came from Carole's post on New York and here she is visiting Seattle - the other side of the continent - we travel so fast here on the 'AR transit'!! I've come from NY to Seattle in seconds - what fun!!
Awesome post Deb!
Hi Carole, I have stayed for hours before! Although now I am usually there for less than 4 because I know how to "work" the show the best way for me.
Hi Deborah, visiting at the speed of light! : ) It is amazing, I often "see" the same people on comments I am making just after them on posts, I get a laugh over it too!
Whoo Hoo...Firiday's coming up!
Deborah, I love stuff like this. Having lived in Olympia during my senior year in high school, I know how beautiful it is and greeeeeen. Beautiful!
Debra - Thank you for sharing. I can't wait foe spring, working in my garden is what relaxes me after a long day. I also get pleasure watching each plant pop out of the ground, and what can I say about the colors.
Hi Teri, it is really an amazing show! I have learned so much from attending...and seeing the incredible display gardens is a wonderful treat!
Hi Jennifer, I took today off (needed a mental health day so much!) the first one in a couple of months and while I did not actually work in my yard/garden I did enjoy watching the birds (I feed many kinds) and hearing them today and thinking about working in my garden!
Deborah...You have such wonderful weather for flowers. It is a gardner's delight up there.
Cheers,
Kathleen
