Meet my Assistant Sammy.....
"Ahhh, here's the file!"

Sammy is excellent at punching holes (whether I want a hole punched or not!) and no one can shred paper and documents better ("I wanna shred the paper you're reading...right now!") She enjoys using a computer (abusing the keys is the most fun!). Sometimes I can't keep her off the phone ("let go of the phone Sammy...I am talking to someone...no, no, don't bite it!") and always wants to help (get in the way!) whatever I am doing (noooooo...I haven't "saved it" yet!). She is always well groomed (sometimes preens at the worst times!) athough always wants to wear pink. Sammy is cheerful, sometimes a little moody (shows her temper and screams!) and does not like to be ignored (to get attention may bite!). Great at networking...loves to be at the center of attention and will laugh her head off (includes lots of head bobbing and dancing!) when there is a good joke around.
And best of all....Sammy works for Peanuts!

"This file needs a hole punched!"

How old is he and how old does he get ??He is really pretty and sure to own the house like most beloved pets, right ?!
Aha!
So Humor works for catching comments! Thanks for making them!
Sammy (she) is 6 now and will out live me (must sell many, many houses to leave her a trust fund!) to somewhere in the 80 year range. Yes, she "rules the roost" and Moluccan Cockatoos are best described as having a "two year old....Forever!"
They are as intelligent, loving, self-centered, annoying, challenging, demanding, silly, loud (they scream as loudly as a jet plane) messy, destructive, courious, playful as a two year old child (one who runs with scissors)... and who will never grow up!
I do love being able to work at home, but I usually have to do it late at night since Sammy will want to help! I have taken her to my office on a rare occassion, that's where these photos were taken, although my productivity for some reasons declines!
Thanks Ed, Michele and Renee!
PS...Ed, that's great that you rescued the Indian Ring Neck during a snow storm! Very Coool!
Hmmm, I'll bite...(Sammy's not the only one!) and ask!
Thanks Caleb!
Deborah,
This is so cute, thank you so much for the chuckle!
Blanca, Sammy is always glad to provide some entertainment! Thanks!
Don, how long have you had your African Grey? I understand that they can be very good talkers..in your case singer : ) Does yours talk?
Don - Lola (cute name!) sounds wonderful! The truck "back up beeps" sounds like it would be very entertaining...most of the time! : )
That a great thing your helping to rescue parrots....from what I have read on the internet (MyToos.com) is that people don't often understand what "owning" a parrot really means (ie difficult) and they are often passed from home to home causing much stress to the birds and destructive behavior. I am sure you made a difference in those birds lives.
I hear the rain forest is a really noisy place sometimes! : )
AAAAahhhh! How did I miss this post?!?! Deborah, this is SO CUTE! She looks right at home going through your files.
I have an "office assistant", too, my younger daughter's hamster who is too noisy at night to sleep in her room. He's not nearly so helpful as Sammy, but he is really cute. But he's my "Grandhamster", so I'm a little biased. ;o)
Thanks for sharing!
