Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood gets to show off for a second time in as many weeks with its' 12th annual Georgetown Art & Garden Walk following June 23rd's first ever Artopia. This is a quirky collection of gardens with a definite art spin, so come and be inspired!
Last year, was a day of sun and fun exploring the streets and gardens of Georgetown, and this year the weather man promises more sun! There were nooks and crannies to look into, and art to discover all over. The event is Sunday, July 8 2007 from 10AM to 5PM and you can get maps at the Georgetown Bank of America at 1112 S. Bailey St.
Here are some photos from last year....
These are the Boots from the famous "Hats and Boots" in Georgetown's Oxbow Park. These used to be the restrooms for a gas station that was located a few blocks away. The Georgetown residents saved the "Hat and Boots" from demolition, raised money and had them moved to their new park. Last year the Hat was decorated in flowers (ala the Pasadena Rose Parade) as an art piece for the Georgetown Art and Garden Walk, though the hot, and sunny weather was hard on the flowers.
The neighborhood P-parch grows in this park too, and are also on display for the Garden Walk.

Come by for a stroll on the quirky side of Seattle and discover a unique perspective in Georgetown....

I love Seattle! I moved here in 1994, and I am so glad I did. If you are Relocating to Seattle, I would be happy to help you find a great neighborhood and home to make living in Seattle a wonderful experience for you.

Great post! I'm almost embarrassed to admit I've never been to Seattle. I've never had the need but have always wanted to go. Maybe instead of Hawaii, I'll break mt creature of habit... habit... and head north for my next vacation. Great shots, too, by the way.
Nestor and Katerina - The climate is very nice, I used to live in Southern California (born in Arizona) and I found it to be too hot for me!
John - Thank you! I don't know about how well we would compare to vacationing in Hawaii though!
