Seattle: City of Burien's SW 152nd St., a Growing Urban Village

There is a whole lotta cool stuff happening in Burien, just 10 minuets south of Downtown Seattle via the "secret" 509 highway.

SW 152nd St in Burien's Olde Burien

There have been some wonderful changes with new businesses opening up to enhance the local experience for Burien residents.   Jimi Lou, the Proprietor of ALLUSIA (921 SW 152nd St) told me last week, "we [now] have people coming from West Seattle and the Kent area because it's easier to come here and shop than other places in Seattle, particularly North Seattle."

Poggi Bonsi on Burien's SW 152nd St. in Olde Burien                                                                                                                                                                                                      There are now cool places to shop, eat and drink in Burien, places like Poggi Bonsi   where you can find Italian tableware, and at it's sister shop, Poggi Bonsi Cucina for gourmet cookware and supplies, they even have candied violets!  There is Grass Roots for unique annuals, perennials and garden gifts, Fireweed Bead Co.,

The Flower Gallery for flowers and Art.   For refreshment there is the MARK, The Tin Room , Elliott Bay Brewery Vino Bello and the newest place to open,  909 Coffee & Wine restaurant.

Now there is so much more to Burien when you go to SW 152nd St and Olde Burien to visit, shop and enjoy.  This is wonderful for those who live in Burien and the surrounding areas of Normandy Park , Tukwila , Seatac  as well as the southern part of  unincorporated Seattle (North Highline, Boulevard Park, White Center etc.).  Of course since Home Values are lower than in most parts of the Seattle area, it's very nice for those looking to buy a home in a great neighborhood or Urban Village like Burien!

Looks like a neat area to shop and just meander through all the shops.

Hi Danny!  Yes, and it's becoming more and more what I like about "Urban Villages".

Come and visit our stores, Poggi Bonsi and Cucina, in Olde Burien!  Cucina, filled with everything for the chef (and the kitchen decorator),  is open everyday, while you can shop the Poggi Bonsi Retail Outlet on the weekends, by appointment or by chance.  Come find a treasure from Europe that you couldn't fit in your suitcase! 206-859-6401
