Where is Burien? Well, it's a community on Puget Sound in Washingon, just 10 to 15 minuets south of Downtown Seattle via what I call the "Secret Freeway", the 509. Unlike other parts of Seattle, Burien has great access to Downtown because of lower density (less road congestion) compared to North Seattle and it has an extra arterial leading to Downtown Seattle.
Burien is becoming another bright spot in the Seattle Real Estate Market, and is gathering interest for home buyers looking to buy a home in the Seattle area who have been priced out of other neighborhoods. Because Burien has been overlooked, and undervalued compared to much of Seattle, it is more affordable with lower prices for single family homes, Sound view homes and Waterfront homes compared to West Seattle, and homes north of Ballard.
Some of Burien's neighborhoods are; Three Tree Point, Seahurst, Gregory Heights, Lake Burien, and Blakely Manor. Burien is also undergoing a wonderful transformation from a sleepy small town, into a vibrant Urban Village with all the new shops and restaurants on SW 152nd St and the construction of Burien Town Square. Burien, as more and more people discover it, is fast becoming a destination place of it's own.
If you are thinking of moving to Burien, Normandy Park, Three Tree Point, or Seahurst or you are thinking of selling your home and have questions, please feel free to give me a call. As a real estate agent in the Burien, Normandy Park, Three Tree Point and Seahurst areas I am always happy to answer your real estate questions, or questions about the area in general.

Hi David, because Burien is just west of SeaTac Airport and all the light rail construction is east of the Airport and works its way north through Tukwila the construction has had no impact on Burien. The construction of the third runway did have a tiny impact a few years ago with heavy trucks loaded with fill dirt getting off the 518 just before entering Burien, but the trucks are fewer and they now have their own special freeway exit before they reach Burien.
Another oddity is that Burien also actually gets very little Airport noise either. The areas immediately to the north and south (Boulevard Park and Des Moines) are the neighborhoods that receive the brunt of the noise, and the further north and south you go it diminishes, so you can sometimes even get plane noise in Capitol Hill!
